The Backblaze CLI

If you're not already using Backblaze on your Mac, go do that now. For the rest of you, if you spend a lot of time in the command line on your Mac or simply want to have access to Backblaze's client tools here's where to start:

ln -s /Library/Backblaze.bzpkg/bztransmit /usr/local/bin/bztransmit

The above command will create a symlink to the BackBlaze binary in its app package. From here reload your shell and you'll have bztransmit sourced in your bin. A few cool things you can do with bztransmit is run a speed test between your home and BackBlaze's datacenter, list wireless access points around you, and pause any current running backups. You can see the whole list of things bztransmit can do by running:

bztransmit -h
